My client is a leading provider of professional services to the financial services community, largely within the OTC derivatives space. As implementation of the firm's performance-driven, client-focussed strategy accelerates, it is experiencing a strong increase in demand for its consulting services from clients in the UK, US ad Asia. Focusing on the agenda of change in the areas of sales, trading, operations, enabling technology, risk management, product control and finance, the firm help their clients to transform their business performance. Strong client relationships and proven commercial success over the past three years has led to unprecedented client demand for consulting services. Consequently, we are seeking experienced and qualified individuals to help grow this team in the UK. This is an opportunity to work with leading Capital Markets organisations globally, to identify and focus on areas critical to the success of their business. From conducting root cause analyses to analysing business requirements; from writing insightful reports to assessing vendor landscapes; from defining strategy to managing complex change programmes, our consultants work with their clients to develop strong, enduring professional relationships at all levels across the client organisation. We are seeking experienced project managers (5-8 years experience) and top flight business analysts (3–5 years experience) to join their growing consulting business.
Key attributes / expertise will include: Project Managers • Strong entrepreneurial sense and inter-personal gravitas • Proven project management of key capital markets change initiatives • Leadership of project teams and management of client relationships • Guiding teams through problem definition, issue identification and work plan development using problem solving principles and past experience • Experience of writing and delivering reports for senior management audiences • Ideally, a recognised project management accreditation (Six Sigma, Prince 2). Business Analysts • Process analysis and re-engineering across product life-cycle functions (sales, trading, operations, technology, product control, risk management, credit, finance etc) • Technology vendor assessments for specific functional solutions across the trade lifecycle for different asset classes • Strong inter-personal skills • Effective communication skills. • Implementation of technology solutions within any of the above areas • Helping define organisational/ cultural changes for projects to be implemented successfully.
Qualifications and Experience • Degree qualified or equivalent • Structured project management lifecycle background (e.g. Prince II, Six Sigma etc) • Relevant experience within either a well regarded management consultancy or a financial institution with proven experience in trade processing functions • A good working knowledge of a range of financial instruments, ideally derivatives, with a strong knowledge of the main challenges of implementing process and/or technology solutions for these instruments • A working knowledge of the main financial markets regulatory frameworks (Basel II, CAD II, IIFRS, Reg NMS, MiFID etc) • Knowledge and experience of implementing trade processing systems (e.g. Calypso, Murex, Summit, Wall street, etc.) • Ability to meet reasonable travel requirements, if and when required.
