Web Developer
Description Responsibilities:
· Design and build web-based trading systems for our Equities clients and trading teams
· Experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML/XHTML, DOM, and JSP (or equivalent), with a deep understanding of web standards.
· Experience working on high-performance UIs with focus on usability, performance principles, and cross-browser development techniques.
· Work on a small team in a high-paced, business-aligned environment
· Contribute to the full application lifecycle of our trading systems
· Contribute interface and usability improvements
· Work closely with users to understand their requirements and our business
Requirements
· Four year degree or international equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
· Minimum 3 years experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML/XHTML, DOM, and JSP (or equivalent), with a deep understanding of web standards.
· Minimum 3 years experience working on high-performance UIs with focus on usability, performance principles, and cross-browser development techniques.
· Real-world experience with toolkits and frameworks such as Prototype, ExtJS, JQuery, Dojo, Scriptaculous, or YUI
· Experience with a server-side scripting language such as JSP and popular MVC frameworks (e.g. Struts 2, Spring MVC)
· Non-trivial Flex and ActionScript development experience is highly preferred, but not required
· Demonstrated experience in the UI development of products with multiple concurrent end users and large datasets
* Financial Industry experience is beneficial, but not required * An advocate for good design and passionate about interface development
