Job Purpose To develop and manage the banks Treasury trading and corporate dealing activities in order to achieve the budgeted returns set in the annual business plan and budget. The incumbent will be responsible for raising the profile of the unit, through product development and relationships building in the domestic and international market.
Key Responsibilities
1. To formulate and agree a Treasury strategy and business plan, which supports the achievement of Investment Banking & Treasury group and the wider Bank’s strategic aims.
2. Manage the treasury trading gaps and non-interest trading income of the unit.
3. Develop & maintain a network of treasury contacts in the international and local market in order to raise the profile of the Bank and to provide opportunities to expand the services currently offered and enable product range growth.
4. Maintain up to date knowledge of Treasury tools and environment including awareness of the latest technologies to ensure the Bank is at the forefront of business developments and able to quickly capitalize on new business opportunities.
5. Oversee segmentation and marketing of corporate customers to ensure uniform and efficient delivery of treasury services to customers.
6. Lead product development and coordinate launching where necessary.
7. Ensure that the optimum delivery channels are used for each product and meet to customer requirements.
8. Ensure that treasury systems are effectively utilized to obtain the maximum benefit from the systems.
9. Ensure adherence to policy & procedures by reporting any violations to SGM Investment Banking & Treasury.
10. Manage and develop staff members in the Unit in order to ensure that the department delivers the optimum and agreed levels of contribution to the Bank, and arrange staff training and development plans to meet current and proposed business needs.
11. Support SGM – Investment Banking & Treasury in special project and any other assignments requests.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. University Graduate. 2. Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in Treasury. 3. Knowledge of world economies and Kuwaiti market. 4. Knowledge of Treasury instruments, product & market developments. 5. Understand client needs and objectives. 6. Analytical & marketing skills. 7. PC skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Windows 8.
