As a joint venture of the NYSE Euronext and Caisse des Dépôts, BlueNext benefits from the international reach of NYSE Euronext and its know-how in market operation, combined with the acknowledged expertise of Caisse des Dépôts in carbon financing, in particular as regard technology for the administration of allowances and registries.
Core to the BlueNext development plan is the growth of the userbase through the recruitment of an experienced Sales Leader with an established network within the emissions trading market. They are expected to develop the number of counterparties trading on the BlueNext Exchange, and the BlueNext market share of exchange-traded business.
This role is an opportunity to drive the business of an organisation at the core of one of the most dynamic, politically important markets of the 21st century. It will offer the chance to work with and sell to the leading market makers in the environmental finance field from investment banks and trading houses to carbon funds and utilities. Furthermore as a joint venture of NYSE Euronext and Caisse des Dépôts, BlueNext provides the candidate with the chance to develop their career within the family of two of the financial markets’ most influential players.
With a background in brokerage, exchanges, or a sales based role in the carbon market the successful candidate will have a firm grasp on a full cycle sales process with senior decision makers in trading institutions. With a strong background in sales leadership, this candidate will have the chance to lead and shape a team as well as be a key player in this growing business.
ROLE AND DUTIES - Membership Development: full cycle management of origination, negotiation and registration of new members
- Relationship management and optimisation of the current membership
- Participation in development and launch of new products and services
- Feed back to product development team
- Participation at, and speeches to conferences and seminars
- Management, coaching and training of sales team (3 people)
- Design of objectives, performance metrics and the sales action plan
- Based in Paris, but travel globally as required
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS - Graduate degree or equivalent in relevant field
- Familiarity and experience in climate change policy, emissions trading, and/or commodity markets
- Deep understanding of the Kyoto protocol
- A proven track-record in sales, management of a sales team, and ability to generate new business
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills,
- Language skills useful: English required; French helpful, but not necessary
- Strong work ethic and organisational skills,
- Ability to work autonomously
SALARY
Base dependent on experience + Significant bonus opportunity
