Position Description: MSCI Barra is a leading provider of investment decision support tools to investment institutions worldwide. MSCI Barra products include indices and portfolio analytics for use in managing equity, fixed income and multi-asset class portfolios.

MSCI Barra Client Consultant
The MSCI Barra Client Consultant is responsible for supporting MSCI Barra's clients within a territory based on client type and region. Consultants work closely with MSCI Barra Research, Product Development and Client Services to identify solutions for clients, utilizing multiple regression statistics, modern portfolio theory (including CAPM, multi-factor models, portfolio optimization models and equity & fixed investment process), complex financial theories, data terminals (Reuters, Quick) and financial management software engineering tools. Consultants identify opportunities for additional revenue generation and work with Account Management to close the sale.
Primary responsibilities of the role include educating and training clients and broadening product usage within a given organization. Consultants also identify clients at risk of cancelling services and then find solutions to turn them around. Consultants play a crucial role in integrating MSCI Barra products into client organizations and ensuring that clients realise the maximum value from their subscription.
Additional responsibilities include hosting workshops and seminars on fixed income and equity risk and performance analytics. Consultants deliver presentations on quantitative investment topics to large client audiences and at industry events.
This role requires extensive travel to clients.
Skills Required:
• 5-10 years of experience in the financial services industry • Strong analytic and quantitative skills • Solid understanding of modern portfolio theory • Consultants require a thorough understanding of linear and matrix algebra, econometric analysis, quantitative investment strategies and asset pricing theories and practices. • Consultants must demonstrate conceptual understanding of these topics as well as practical calculation of related values. • Superior written and verbal communication skills • Ability to develop strong client relationships • MBA, Masters Degree and/or CFA charter holder preferred
