As an Application Developer you will be part of a RAD team that provides high quality technology solutions by developing application components for the critical & urgent needs of the Trading & Operations community within the Securities Lending business. You will be responsible for developing, testing, and QA support of assigned tools in a rapid delivery focused environment. You will work closely with a Rapid Application Development Lead to report development status, identify project issues and offer workable solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that your code is of high-quality, fully functional, readable, maintainable, and fulfills the pre-defined business requirements.
Responsibilities: Responsible for the design, development, and IST of assigned RAD requests Ensure that all coding standards are met--code is readable, well-documented, maintainable, and efficient (and of course fully-functional) Ensure that all assigned development is thoroughly unit tested and follows technical design Understand business requirements and how assigned application components are meeting those requirements Raise technical issues and problems to development lead; identify solutions and work with development lead to implement them Identify efficiencies and ways to improve design and development processes Desire to take on additional responsibility . Qualifications Required:Minimum three to four years of application development experience using Microsoft Excel macros & other scripting tools. Desire to work in an exciting business focused environment where he/she can influence the future success of the group Database querying skills are critical to the success of this project. Somebody who is delivery-focused with a proven track record Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Access Technology. Excellent written and verbal communication; Good interpersonal skills Solid technical background - either from Development or Systems Analysis A willingness to travel to Bournemouth, London, Dallas and/or Sydney should a project require this Experience and skills in one or more of the following technologies: Java, Oracle, Websphere, .NET College degree in related technical/business areasDesired: Knowledge of creating Rumba Macro Scripts Experience working with out-sourced/vendor based developments, or a geographically dispersed project team Working knowledge of the Capability Maturity Model Integrated, preferably familiar with Level 2/3.
