Job Description: -Supervising team of 6-8 people in Tokyo -Ensuring accuracy of daily P&L -New deal review and approval -Ensuring products are correctly valued, adequately reserved and appropriate controls are being applied -Understanding new business structures together with valuation parameters and system bookings -Assisting in implementing new systems and processes -Analysing impacts of new accounting or reporting requirements and providing feedback to the business on their impact -Supporting the business with respect to requests for data analysis -Developing a strong working relationship with the Front Office and other support areas -Ad-hoc analysis -Development and support of the team in their daily roles -Staff training
This role will require extensive interaction with, among others, Front Office, Market Risk, Operations, Information Technology, and other Finance Groups.
Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree with further qualifications preferred (CFA, CIMA, ACA, Masters etc) -Previous experience (at least 7 years) in product control within a derivatives area and experience as a Supervisor/Senior Product Controller -Outgoing personality, quick learner, ambitious, adaptable, strong team player, deadline and goal orientated -Good organisational skills -A high level of initiative to address issues as they arise and confidence in analysing and presenting financial data. -Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel -Initiative to address issues as they arise and confidence in analysing and presenting financial data -Good communication skills, as the role requires interaction with the trading desk, middle office and IT. -Strong English language capability is required; Asian language ability is a plus but not a requirement
