Your Mission
The Fund Accounting Unit Head is responsible for the management of one of the fund accounting units. A fund accounting unit is composed of several fund accounting groups each with its supervisor and deputy. The Fund Accounting unity head is fully responsible for all people and operational management of his/her unit.
Depending on your profile and experience, this position could allow you to progress rapidly within the structure.
- Manage supervisors to develop team work and ensure that functional objectives are fulfilled
- Achieve customer satisfaction and be a key customer contact across the clients in the fund accounting department
- Maintain and control the quality and performance of the department in accordance with the productivity objectives
- Overall risk management
- Coordinate and follow up of error and incident reporting
- Keep department manager informed of issues of relevance
- Participate in accounting system and other developments to respond to business, productivity and control needs
- Implement new working methods and processes in liaison with process review and system liaison managers
- Keep developing knowledge of fund services, asset management and custody services and ensure that this information is shared across the department
- Ensure compliance issues are identified, addressed, reported and resolved
- Ensure compliance with budget in performing client services and propose improvements
- Ensure procedures of the unit are kept up-to-date and complied with
- Keep abreast on industry developments and regulatory changes
Your profile
- Minimum 8-10 years experience in fund industry
- Expert in fund accounting, investment funds and broad knowledge of capital markets, sound understanding of tax matters
- Fluency in English (English native speaker being an advantage) and French
- People management, leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and multi-task
- Result oriented and client service delivery focused
- Active listener and problem solver
- Understand and manage client needs and expectations
- Strong self-initiative to meet client needs proactively
- Understanding of IT matters
- People skills
- Microsoft office suite – strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Project management skills
- Client service skills: communication, listening and telephone - Leadership: Function requires convincing peers and clients.
