We are a leading commodities trading house based London undergoing huge growth and transition due present market conditions. We focus mainly on Gas, Power and Oil. We need a quant analyst with at least 2 years experience in Commodities, specifically Gas, who can join the team at this crucial time. The overall purpose of the role is the analysis of the Gas trading activities, however other commodities products will be covered, such as Oil and Power. The improvement of trading and structuring operations through the continuing development and validation of quantitative models will also be part of your responsibilities. This role covers all front office aspects of quantitative analysis as well as covering model validation and implementation of trading and portfolio optimisation models and you will have sufficient knowledge in commodities (again specifically Gas) to be able to provide valuation of the trading portfolio, including futures, Swaps, options etc and provide VaR analysis of the trading strategies. This high profile role is essential in moving forward and expanding into new areas as a business. You will be at the heart of this.
You must have a strong numerical education to at least MSc level and preferably to PhD. You must have Commodities experience, specifically in Gas; in addition you will bring commercial experience from the middle or front office as a quantitative analyst and knowledge of VaR and model validation. Furthermore experience in VBA and C++ will be regarded very favourably. Most importantly your quantitative skills and knowledge of mathematical models, such as Monte Carlo, Stochastic Calculus and Time Series Analysis need to be first rate and you need to be abelt to communicate this at interview.
