The Control team’s responsibilities cover a combined Risk and P&L function, including full attribution and trade review. The candidate will manage two direct reports and have overall responsibility for a team of nine.
The candidate will be the main face-off to the Front Office in this respect and also interact with:
• Business Management for new trading strategies • Global Valuations Group for financial modelling and price testing
• Financial Control for balance sheet substantiation and capital adequacy
• Risk Control
With a constantly changing regulatory environment there is a need for non-standard tasks to provide trade and structure reviews and analysis to a detailed level.
The candidate will also form part of the management team for the combined European Derivative area, contributing to the implementation of strategic projects.
Equity Finance is undergoing transformation into a CFO function, utilising synergies gained from system enhancement and alternative sourcing. The candidate will contribute to the change management program required to make this achievable.
Education / Qualifications Minimum 2:1 Degree, B grades at A-Level with mathematical content
Not essential, but candidates who have an Accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) will be viewed preferentially.

Strong interest in complex products allied with a control based focus. Flexibility to balance the needs of managing a team whilst also meeting their own deadlines. Ability to identify issues and escalate and communicate issues articulately to management and technical traders. Ability to act off own initiative with an appetite for process and system improvement.
