Supporting a top tier energy generation / trading firm. Position located in the North East. Relocation provided.
Responsibilities:
Interact daily with various counterparties to assure volumes checked out and paths which electricity flowed were correct.
Confirm schedules and upload bids and offers for physical movement of power from one area to another (electricity load serving contract).
Investigated power cuts and bookouts which were passed by counterparties to assure they were valid. Communicated to direct contacts in path proper cut totals and prices and booked deals into Openlink.
Worked with traders to assure their positions were flat and investigated any breaks on a daily basis.
Amend deals to agree with broker and counterparty by verifying details on trade blotter matched what was entered in our system.
Generate and review daily reports to ensure timely and precise reporting of physical power transactions.
Requirements:
2 or more years of related experience in the energy industry (preferably with scheduling, real-time trading, or mid/backoffice experience with a merchant energy or trading company)
Familiarity with managing daily energy schedules in various ISO (Independent System Operator) Scheduling systems
Exposure to Northeast Power Markets a plus
Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions and meet hourly and daily time deadlines
Familiarity with nMarket, OASIS, OATI, and ISO/RTO scheduling platforms
Excellent technology skills with strong Excel (macros, pivot tables, look-ups and filtering) and PowerPoint skills
Bachelors degree Business/Finance/Accounting
