The Performance/NAV Team is responsible for Performance/NAV calculation for a large number of fixed income separate accounts. This includes analysis and comparison with third parties such as custodian banks and accounting agents. The team works closely with the Cash Reconciliation Group to ensure minimal risk in performance/NAV calculation caused by any cash reconciliation exceptions.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Conduct calculation and analysis of portfolio, net asset value and performance;
Serve as liaison between the Portfolio Management Group (PMG), Account Management Group (AMG), Operations and Technology to ensure the accuracy of performance/NAV calculations;
Work with team to conduct and implement procedures and controls to ensure AIMR and SAS-70 Audit requirements;
Provide PMG and AMG support in managing client relationships with respect to investment performance related issues;
Prepare and provide extensive reconciliation to custodian banks and accounting agents in order to prevent and/or resolve NAV/performance discrepancies;
Manage BlackRock’s relationship with external parties including custodian banks, accounting agents, consultants, and auditors;
Prepare and review ad-hoc report to clients as necessary;
Assist in re-engineering BlackRock’s operating environment including developing specifications for transaction processing, streamlining existing processes, and participating in various automation projects to enhance productivity and control;
Participate in testing and implementation of Straight Through Processing research and reconciliation tool;
Participate in the hiring and training process of newly hired professionals and interns in the Administration Group;
Skills and Credentials:
Candidate should possess at least three to five years experience in performance, fund accounting, and/or operations;
Bachelor's degree is required;
A strong working knowledge of fixed income securities including MBS, futures, options, and swaps is required;
Computer proficiency in Excel, Word and Bloomberg required;
An entrepreneurial spirit that is willing to take on additional responsibility quickly;
The ability to thrive in a team environment;
Enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment;
Excellent analytical and communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate financial analyses and issues.
