Top Tier Investment Bank based in the City of London, looking to recruit a Commodities Product Controller. The Commodity Group is a market leader in the trading and market making of Commodity products across the globe. The Commodities groups are run as global books across time zones. The Commodity business is in a period of rapid growth at the bank. The Middle Office are challenged with ensuring a robust and scaleable infrastructure is in place to allow the business to grow at the rate forecast by Front Office and in a controlled fashion. Because of this expected growth, the need for a team of highly skilled individuals dedicated to supporting and building this expanding business is essential. Reporting to the Head of Desk, your responsibilities will include: - Working within middle office and closely alongside other business areas, the successful candidate will be fully cross trained and interchangeable between all P&L reports within Commodity Middle Office P&L's remit. - Daily production of a Commodities P&L. - Reconciliation to trader estimates. - Production and reconciliation of P&L explain reports: explanation of main P&L drivers on a daily basis, and P&L explain verification to trader estimates. - Daily Position and P&L reconciliation of exchange traded positions. - Monitoring and working with Technology to ensure delivery of P&L explain system improvements is effective and timely. - Reconciliation to General Ledger accounts at month end. - Consolidation of daily metrics for the London Energy businesses. - Assisting in the development and improvements of the current P&L process. Relationships: - Front Office, working closely with trading staff and physical oil schedulers on a daily basis. - Middle Office, working alongside all middle office support functions: Technology, Risk, Trade Support. - Accounting, regular communication regarding the GL The ideal candidate will be a high calibre graduate with a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) from a Top University and have a minimum 12 months Product Control experience from an Investment Bank or Trading House. Any experience supporting Physical Oil trading business is a definite advantage. You will need strong communication skills to liaise with traders and other Front and Middle Office staff with the ability to work proactively and unsupervised.
