Macquarie now employs over 1,800 staff in North America. The Corporate Affairs Group provides many of the support functions Macquarie requires. The Corporate Affairs Group comprises over 1500 staff in 30 locations globally. The Group's purpose is: “To provide a seamless multi-disciplinary support infrastructure tailored to business requirements, while maintaining appropriate levels of risk management, compliance and corporate governance.?? Macquarie Capital Funds (MacCap Funds) is a specialist funds management business which focuses primarily on infrastructure and private equity asset classes. It establishes and manages investment vehicles which raise funds from investors to acquire interests in infrastructure or private equity assets. The business has experienced significant growth since its inception and now manages over 30 funds (total infrastructure assets under management at 31 March 2008 was $54 billion). This role supports the accounting and finance functions for our listed investment vehicle, Macquarie Infrastructure Company LLC. (NYSE: MIC). The position reports to the Senior Vice President of Finance. Responsibilities include: • Supervision and co-ordination of the monthly financial/management accounting close and consolidation process. • Co-ordination of annual/quarterly statutory reporting process, including primary responsibility for SEC filings. • Review of financial statements, notes, schedules, journal entries and reconciliations prepared by the team and maintenance of reporting checklists. • Review of consolidating and consolidated statement of cash flows. • Co-ordination of team's fulfilment of satisfying internal and external audit and Sarbanes Oxley requests. • Technical accounting support, including technical accounting research and ad hoc projects. • Liaison with the finance teams of the assets and provision of accounting support to assets as required. • Co-ordination of ad hoc projects across the division, such as improvements to PeopleSoft general ledger system. • Legal Entity Controller responsibilities and liaison with Sydney accounting and Macquarie Capital Funds teams. • Management of the financial accounting team, including training and supervision of junior team members, allocation of work and monitoring of workloads and the provision of on-going guidance and support. • Key involvement in graduate recruiting and internship programs. Successful candidates will have the following experience: • Minimum of 10+ years practical working experience in Accounting required, mix of public accounting and private sector accounting in a publicly-held company preferred. • Degree in accounting required, post-graduate accounting qualification (CPA/CA) strongly preferred. • Heavy US GAAP experience. • Solid management skills. • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior management and Board. • Supervisory/Management experience required. • Strong commercial experience with SEC reporting required.
