Background Primarily to support all Equity Derivatives business. The role is responsible for managing the Equity Derivatives TSG team, ensuring optimisation of process, management of the control environment and a clear understanding of Equity TSG processes and procedures and development of the team. Responsibilities • Manages staff and resources – Provides Leadership and people management to the Equity Derivatives TSG team • Ensures that all daily Equity Derivatives TSG processing activities are completed within the agreed deadlines, viz: - Trade affirmation, position keeping, lifecycle processing, controls and EOD processing
- These are the first line checks which ensure that trading are managing risk on exotic and vanilla derivative products in line with the terms being confirmed to our counterparties
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with business colleagues, ensures business plans are understood and translated into effective operational support • Acts as main point of contact for day to day BAU support of Equity Derivatives business activity • Providing solutions for improved efficiency and control of operational processes • Identifies and assesses opportunities for process developments and improvements • Drives forward new business opportunities and projects relating to Equity Derivatives TSG functions • Identifies and communicates problems and issues to the head of Transaction Management • Drives to improve operational performance, create value and outperform competitors • Contributes to the development of key procedural improvements across Equity Trading Support operations to ensure maximum processing efficiency and reduced operational risk to Bank and clients. Implement robust controls for processing of exotic trades • Works collaboratively with Change Management teams to enable implementation of internal and external initiatives • Develops, monitors and reports on Trade Operations performance against business SLAs and communicates to our business partners and vendors • Manages and drives improvements in productivity and efficiency using appropriate efficiency metrics (KPIs) that are in place and being monitored against industry standards • Ensures that the Department is complies with key audit and regulatory control (e.g. SOXA Key Controls) requirements and mitigates any gaps • Ensure that customer issues are resolved effectively resulting in minimum businesses losses Requirements • 5 years relevant global markets business experience (working within a Equity Derivative TSG operations team) • Proven track record in supporting Equity/Equity Derivatives activities at a team leader level • Has an extensive knowledge of key Equity/Equity Derivative strategies and market complexities (both from a flow and exotic derivative perspective) • Full understanding of the front to back Operations process e.g. transaction management, settlement, corporate actions, cash flows, reconciliation and confirmations • Is able to participate in change activities • Preferred to have proven track record in leading change activities and ability to manage diverse teams across multiple locations / time zones (exposure to off shore support models an advantage) • Good academic qualifications preferably to degree level • History of technical training • Detailed knowledge of Equity Derivatives operational requirements – both vanilla and exotic. This includes cash flow calculation, risk valuation, lifecycle events • Has a full and detailed understanding of the following activities: Trade Processing, Validation, Settlement, Valuation, Broker Matching, Corporate Actions, Confirmation Processing, Front to Back Reconciliations, reconciliation of cash and securities, Liaison with Brokers, Clients, Fund Managers, common depository Agents, ICSD’s and CSD’s • Detailed knowledge Equity/Equity Derivative business processing • Strong control mindset, proven record of managing controls within a robust framework • Ability to identify and solve control issues • Strong interpersonal and team skills • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Languages • Fluent English Location • Hong Kong
