Department OverviewSecurities Lending forms part of the WSS Franchise under the Securities Lending and Execution Products Product Company banner. As Agent lender for some of the firm's major custody clients, the Product generates gross revenue in excess of $ 1 billion, with aggressive plans and a vision to grow the business by 35% i 2008 through the development of new markets, targeted sales and innovative new products. Securities Lending operations provides loan maintenance and on-loan position entitlement protection services, working across the lending product company and with external market counterparties to provide a high quality, risk adverse product offering for our clients. The Vice President of Operations Risk & Control will have the following responsibilities: Staff Management Principal point of contact for senior management, internal and external audit and regulatory groups for operational risk matters Oversee and manage regional controls functions. Controls Development/Risk Advisory Provide senior management with advice/guidance with regard to identification and mitigation of operational risks associated with the services and products. Co-ordinate and lead project teams in the event of a market/corporate crises. Quantifying significance of event and exposure for both the Bank and our clients. Carry out reviews of product and service groups to ensure compliance with the current operating model, whilst at the same time identifying opportunity to refine and improve the model. Promote and support the maintenance of an effective control environment.Controls Training Develop and present controls awareness training material. Carry out Controls Awareness training for all levels within the Business and Operations team. Controls Tracking Creation and support of central database for KRI & EF&L reporting to supporting LoB and Corporate reporting requirements. Provide definition and guidance on the key indicators and EF&L data to measure and manage operational risk within WSS. Support revision and maintenance of the operational risk tracking models. Provide in-depth analysis of key trends within operational MIS, with the ultimate aim of identifying root cause/driver. Refine and enhance the existing risk models and tracking tools.Audit/Regulatory Liaison Act as the principal interface between the business and our internal/external review bodies, including Regulators, external Audit groups and client due diligence reviews. Prepare management responses to regulatory/audit observations. Tracking resolution of identified issues. Maintain an awareness of developments within the Risk Management and Finance industry for the development of Operational Risk quantification methodologies.Product Approval Provide guidance and input in the development of WSS products, ensuring full compliance with the Corporate Product Approval policy. Bachelor's degree in a business / finance / accounting discipline preferred Demonstrable controls awareness experience e.g through working within an audit type role. Finance Industry business experience. Knowledge of the custody industry and specifically securities lending Audit, Risk or Controls background ideal Strong analytical ability Strong influencing and negotiation skills Strong presentation skills Proven in-depth PC skills.
