The Economic Research Department within Group Risk Management of our client engages in research to analyse political, macroeconomic and commercial trends that impact on the insolvency/credit risk outlook around the world. Economic Research is seeking to recruit an experienced macroeconomist to join its economic ratings team, to develop and maintain a variety of models with specific focus on rating models of aggregate insolvency/credit risk in major OECD economies. You will need to be able to demonstrate an awareness of how global economic events impact upon the prospects of industries within the major economies of the world. As well as being able to demonstrate strong knowledge of econometrics and display an understanding of practical issues in modelling. You will ideally have: • A PhD or Master. Work experience necessary for Masters level and desirable but not essential for PhD level. • Valid work experience gained through a financial institution/government/ economics bureau/academia. • Excellent written and spoken English. Should have good, proven writing skills (in English). • Knowledge of another major European language would be an advantage. • A well rounded personality. • Ability to communicate essential. You work well independently on research projects and to tight deadlines, and feel comfortable in a highly international environment. Group Risk Management (GRM) is a multidisciplinary unit with a wide range of responsibilities that include developing and maintaining tools and models for pricing, risk reporting, economics, capital allocation, rating development and analysis, automatic underwriting, and provisioning.
